About Vettexas
Vettexas is an electronic magazine about a community and a community of enthusiasts talking about the magazine. Founded in September of 2007 to cover Corvette events, activities and enthusiasts across the Lone Star State, VT seeks to provide ideas and information to Texas Corvette owners drivers and fans. Vettexas magazine brings readers to the forums for discussion and everyone who signs up for the forums becomes a subscriber to the magazine. Our coverage aims to be statewide, enthusiastic, informative and geared to the people and events that make the Corvette Community such a unique group of people.
We are not associated with, or financially supported by, General Motors. The site is free to all noncommercial members. We are supported by advertising, supporting vendors and supporting dealers.
The Magazine
Vettexas is published monthly and distributed via an email download link. Each month, subscribers receive an email with a brief overview of the month’s stories and a link to the PDF file of the magazine for download. These emails are provided as a text link and as a visually impactful HTML version so important content gets through email filters.
Vettexas Magazine is designed to be viewed on the PC, it is specially formatted for the screen and utilizes all of the content benefits available through the PDF format. Ads are clickable and can open your website in a new window. Small video can even be included but does impact the download size and time. We’ll use it when practical. Or link to it via YouTube. All articles include links to the discussion forums on Vettexas.com.
The Discussion Forums
The forums on Vettexas.com are designed to complement the magazine and create a two pronged relationship with Corvette enthusiasts. By pointing magazine readers to the website we create a conversation about the articles, and by emailing the magazine to all members of the forum, we provide them with a monthly reason to revisit the website, read the magazine and view your advertising.
Website advertising
Banner Advertising - Banner ads are run in rotation at the top of all forum pages. Banner ads must be 468 pixels wide x 60 pixels tall.
Skyscrapers - There are two skyscraper ads available, these are 150 x 200.
Button Ads - Button ads appear in the sidebar of the forum and link directly to your website, opening it in a new web browser window. These ads do not rotate. They are seen every time that a page in the forums is viewed. Many members use them as a primary Corvette links resource. Button ads are 150 x 50.
